Noman Cole Construction Work on Old Colchester Rd

To the Mason Neck community:

 

I would like to let the association know about some future plant construction work that will impact Old Colchester Road temporarily.

 

For the project, a large pipe has to be run under Old Colchester Road to our outfall.  For this work, our consultant recommended closing Old Colchester Road for two weeks in a section near the plant.  Under this scenario, all traffic would be detoured to Route 1.  We rejected this recommendation because we felt it was too much burden on our neighbors.  In response, they have proposed a less disturbing option that would provide temporary paved lanes along the Noman Cole property in order to maintain the traffic during the two week construction period.  I think this is acceptable but it does require a site permit modification.

 

Please let me know if you want to discuss or see plans. This work is slated for some time next year but we are working through permits now.  The permitting process will involve neighboring landowner notifications.
