Deb Morris, a former resident on Mason Neck who lived with her husband Kurt Moses and their 10 kitties on the corner of Old Colchster and Gunston Rd, passed away Sunday.
They had been at a party next door when Deb went home to retrieve something.
Kurt went to their home 10 minutes later and found her on the floor. She died of heart failure. CPR was administered. The ambulance came and she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Deb served on the MNCA board and was a tutor for many years with the Gunston Partners Program. In addition, every kitty who did not have a home found that they were always welcome at Deb's. Since Deb and Kurt moved to DC (WITH KITTIES!), they were involved in a program where they shared their home with Irish college students. They would travel to Ireland each year and visit with many of their former students to bring about joy on both sides!
Deb worked for many professional organizations who called on her to do editing for journals, etc.
There will be a celebration of her life on July 13th at 3:00 at GRAWLERS FUNERAL HOME, 5130 Wisconsin Ave, NW, DC. There will be an Irish wake after that about 20 minutes from the funeral home. For more information please contact dianarock@hotmail.com.
Deb will be certainly missed by many.
