"The Army has completed an environmental review of the planned decommissioning and dismantlement of the nuclear reactor at Fort Belvoir (which has not operated since the early 1970s). The plan is to remove all traces of the reactor and restore the site to a vegetated condition suitable for any future use. The review concludes that there will be no significant impact from the removal but is inviting public comments through January 31. A printed copy of the review is available for reading at the Lorton library and it can be viewed online at https://www.nab.usace.army.mil/Missions/Environmental/SM-1/ ."
