Sip & Spell fundraiser for Lorton Library - February 22, 2020

The Friends of Lorton Library are sponsoring the second annual "Sip and Spell" Fundraiser on Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. at Fair Winds Brewery 7000 Newington Rd., Lorton.  This adult spelling bee event (age 21+) offers something for everyone…learning new words, cheating, Bingo for audience members, delicious drinks available from Fair Winds and fantastic food available from Natural Red Catering.  Proceeds will benefit a portable story walk.  Spellers can register for $5.00 online and buy cheats at https://www.fairfaxlibraryfoundation.org/events/sip-spell-a-spelling-bee-for-adults-2.   Guests judges include Dale Rumberger, President of the South County Federation and former South County Principal, Fairfax Foundation Executive Director Jessica Hudson and Fairfax Library Board Representative Gary Russell. The portable story walk that will be purchased with proceeds from the Sip & Spell will be used for outreach to local schools and during community events while the library is under renovation.
