LCAC's Holiday outreach is around the corner! Here's how you can be a part of blessing children, teens and seniors in our community:
Commit to:
(1) Making a Christmas food basket. Click here to download the basket list.
(2) Donate a grocery gift card in increments of $20 or larger
(3) Adopt a child, teen or senior. List 1, list 2 and list 3. (List 2 and 3 are for our senior and disabled families). We currently have 669 unmet holiday needs on the 3 lists!
(4) Give online to cover the cost of one or more gift cards ($25 each).

Join the Pantry Team!
LCAC's pantry has some specific volunteer needs right now.
CAFB Team:
We could use a great tandem that would be willing to take on the Capital Area Food Bank pick up each week.
Your 2 hours would help to feed almost 1,000 people weekly!
The Volunteer team could use the LCAC truck for the pickup.
Pantry Leads:
More than 8,500 pounds of food is processed in the pantry weekly.
We are looking for a few volunteer leaders to work in 2-3 hour shifts and direct other volunteers. A great attitude, a love for our wonderful community and the ability to stand/lift is all that's required!
Want to learn more about these needs, contact Christen, LCAC's Director of Volunteers!
Did you know that seniors are the fastest growing population in our area in need of help from LCAC?
Re-Gift, Re-Love Sale Continues!
Where else can you find just the right item for a reasonable price AND help families in our community too? Lorton's Attic, LCAC's Thrift Store of course!
The ever popular Re-Gift, Re-Love Sale is currently on at the Attic. Don't miss your chance to stock up on gift wrap for $1 per roll, score a lovely dress or find the perfect serving piece to take to a holiday party.
Stop by on Saturdays from 11am to 4pm or Monday-Friday, 10am to 5pm, 9506 Richmond Highway, in the Williamsburg Square Shopping Center.
1040 Anyone?
LCAC's VITA/FSA Tax program is one of the most impactful from a financial standpoint. Last year, LCAC helped low-income families receive more than $88,000 in refunds.
LCAC has 2 great Volunteer Site Coordinators, and several returning volunteers to the program. We could use YOU!
LCAC's site will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning February 4th - April 15th, and 2 Saturdays. Full training is provided by the IRS. Learn more about VITA here.
