[MNCA-Notices] Fwd: NOTICE

Hello Mason Neck Residents!

On June 10, 2017 Mason Neck State Park will be hosting the first ever Back to the Bay celebration. The event is the culmination of the Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week that starts this Saturday, June 3, with Clean the Bay Day. We're excited that the Chesapeake Bay Commission chose our park to host this event. There will be lots of activities going on with many displays from organizations and businesses that have an impact on the Bay and its tributaries. It's going to be a lot of fun. The event is scheduled to run from 10 am to 3 pm.

THERE WILL BE AN IMPACT TO THE COMMUNITY! This is the first ever event of this kind in Virginia and we expect a very high attendance for the day.  Our parking is limited in Mason Neck State Park so we are planning for off-site parking at the Mustang Trail Head at BLM's Meadowood Special Recreation Area should all available spaces in the park fill up. From there visitors will use transit buses to access the park and return to their vehicles. There could be delays and lines of vehicles on Gunston Road if we get to that point. Police officers will be at the intersections of Gunston Road and Harley Road as well as at Gunston Road and High Point Road to keep things moving as quickly as possible.

We want to invite you to attend the event and thank you for your patience and cooperation.
